Welcome to Chisworth Methodist Church
Chisworth Methodist Church can be found in the small village of Chisworth on the edge of the High Peak, Derbyshire. It is the only church in the village and is clearly visible from the main road. Although it is a fairly traditional church building it has been well-maintained and has made excellent use of its premises. The congregation at Chisworth is small but welcoming. Worship is central to the life at Chisworth. Whilst we enjoy traditional worship we are open to new ways of worshipping and have a fairly relaxed informal atmosphere. We have been glad that in more recent days we have monthly services where children and families are welcome. Chisworth is a very hospitable church and nearly all our events and services are accompanied with some home-made refreshments. We are glad that at Chisworth we have some really hard workers and this means that we are able from time to time to have other events ... lunches, social evenings and coffee mornings etc.
We are pleased that our premises are well used by the local community. We have a lovely, recently refurbished room and this is used by the local pre-school, art class and other organisations.
At Chisworth we seek to be open, inclusive and accepting, as we believe that this is how God's love and grace is - reaching out to all and offering peace, hope and friendship.
Accessibility
Chisworth is easily accessible with a ramp at the front of church, although there are stairs at the side of church the back room where we serve refreshments etc are easily accessed round the back.
Weddings and Baptisms
Chisworth welcomes people who are looking to get married or have children baptised and the minister is always willing to talk this through with people.
